Dr. Randy Ennen is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in surgery of the eye and treatment of eye disease. He performs no-stitch refractive cataract surgery using the latest in implantable lens technology and laser surgery for glaucoma, diabetic retinal disease, and aging diseases of the retina. Dr. Ennen also performs refractive surgery, including blade-free Intralase, LASIK (Laser Assisted In-situ Keratomileusis) and PRK (Photo Refractive Keratectomy), using the excimer Laser. Dr. Ennen also offers ICLs—implantable contact lenses, for treatment of myopia.
Dr. Ennen received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, Iowa City, Iowa in 1980, his medical degree from Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri in 1984 and served his internship in Internal Medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Missouri Columbia.
Since starting his private practice in 1988, Dr. Ennen has always been on the forefront of advances in vision care, offering the most technologically advanced treatment for refractive corrections and eye diseases in Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.
His professional memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery, Outpatient Ophthalmic Surgical Society and Arkansas Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Shane Laster, an optometric physician, began his practice in 1996 and provides general eye care for the entire family. He treats an array of eye diseases and provides post-operative care for LASIK and cataract surgery patients.
After earning his Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Northeastern State University, Dr. Laster continued his studies there, and received his Doctor of Optometry degree with highest honors from the Northeastern State College of Optometry. He was recognized for many achievements as a student, including two-time National Optometric Quiz Bowl Champion and Vistakon’s Award for Excellence in contact lens care.
As a leader in his field, Dr. Laster is committed to using the latest technology to provide the best vision care possible. Because he believes all patients should receive vision care from a physician who is aware of advances in Optometry, Dr. Laster provides continuing education opportunities for other area optometrists.
A proud member of the Fort Smith community, Dr. Laster enjoys volunteering as a coach for local youth sports. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Arkansas Optometric Association.
